| NCPPO encourages physicians,
hospitals and other health care professionals to submit claims
electronically. Electronic submission has been shown to increase
the accuracy of claims payment. It also offers advantages such
as faster turnaround, lower administrative costs, and the elimination
of mail delays and postage.
To start sending electronic
claims to NCPPO you must:
- To obtain your participating
NCPPO Provider ID, call Customer Service at:
(314) 989-6300
(800) 272-5911
- Contact your clearinghouse
and tell them you want to send claims electronically to
HealthLink. Your clearinghouse will need to know your NCPPO
Provider ID and that NCPPO/HealthLink uses the (ENVOY) Payer
ID numbers:
90001
Your clearinghouse should help
you get started and do all testing necessary to assure the
electronic pathway between you and NCPPO/HealthLink is working.
All claims can be sent to NCPPO/HealthLink electronically.
NCPPO/HealthLink will return
two types of reports:
- The CONFIRMATION
REPORT is returned for every file sent to NCPPO/HealthLink.
The confirmation report verifies that NCPPO/HealthLink received
your claims.
- The REJECTION
REPORT is returned only for claims that NCPPO/HealthLink
cannot process. This is due to inability to identify the
member. This report will follow the Confirmation Report
by several days.
Questions regarding how to set
up electronic claims or if the NCPPO/HealthLink reports are
not getting to you should be directed to your clearinghouse.
It is the clearinghouse's responsibility to investigate problems
along the electronic claims pathway. NCPPO/HealthLink and
its clearinghouses have more than fifteen years of claims
experience to make filing electronically a valuable part of
your office routine.
